Candle Labeling & Product Safety (CLP) Clause

1. Compliance with CLP Regulations:

Olutones.co.uk ensures that all candles comply with the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as retained in UK law post-Brexit. This includes clear communication of any hazards associated with candle ingredients and the safe use of the products.

2. Use of Paraffin Wax:

All candles sold via olutones.co.uk are made using high-grade paraffin wax, which has been tested for clean burning and quality. Customers are advised to use candles in well-ventilated areas and in accordance with the provided safety guidelines.

3. Safety Stickers and Hazard Information:

Each candle will be provided with a safety label that includes the following:

• CLP hazard pictograms and signal words (if applicable),

• Full list of allergens (fragrance components) as required by CLP,

• Instructions for safe use, including burning time and distance from flammable materials,

• First aid measures in case of skin or eye contact with melted wax or fragrance oils,

• Disposal instructions in line with environmental guidelines.

These labels will be affixed to each product in accordance with legal requirements.

4. End-User Responsibility:

It is the responsibility of the end-user to read and follow the safety instructions provided. Olutones.co.uk will not be held liable for any misuse or failure to follow clearly displayed safety information.

5. Safety and Handling Disclaimer:

Olutones.co.uk takes every precaution to ensure the safety and quality of our products. However, as candles involve open flames and heat, users must handle them with care and never leave burning candles unattended.

6. Insurance:

Olu Tones Candles LTD holds Public & Product Liability insurance and Employers’ Liability insurance with Tide Insurance, with cover in place from 30 September 2026. Trade and business customers can request a copy of our certificate of insurance by emailing enquiries@olutones.co.uk.
